Groups & Social Skills

A supportive group environment where children and teens can build confidence, practise social skills, and connect with peers who understand.

Learning Together in a Safe Space

Group therapy offers something individual therapy can't — the experience of being with others who share similar challenges. For children and teens, this can be especially powerful. Knowing you're not alone, practising skills in real time with peers, and receiving encouragement from a group can accelerate growth in ways that feel natural and lasting.

Our groups are small, structured, and facilitated by experienced therapists. They focus on building the social and emotional skills that help children and teens navigate friendships, school, and everyday life with greater confidence.

Groups run periodically throughout the year. Contact us to find out about upcoming groups and whether a group setting is the right fit for your child.

Why Group Therapy?

Peer Connection

Children and teens discover they are not alone — building empathy and reducing the isolation that often accompanies social difficulties.

Real-Time Practice

Skills are practised in the moment with real peers, making learning more natural and transferable to everyday situations.

Therapist-Guided Safety

A trained facilitator ensures the group remains a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for every participant.

Shared Growth

Witnessing others work through challenges and succeed is motivating — and often more powerful than hearing it from an adult.

What Groups Focus On

  • Making and keeping friends
  • Reading social cues and body language
  • Managing emotions in social situations
  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving
  • Building self-confidence and self-expression
  • Navigating peer pressure and boundaries
  • Coping with anxiety in social settings
  • Teamwork and cooperative play

Who Are Groups For?

Our groups are designed for children and teens who struggle with social interactions, experience anxiety in peer settings, have been diagnosed with ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, or other neurodevelopmental differences, or who simply want to build stronger social confidence.

Groups are age-matched and kept small to ensure every participant receives attention and support. A brief intake conversation with a therapist helps determine whether a group is the right fit.
